Jamaica - Day 7

Posted by Unknown on Friday 21 December 2012.

A final room service breakfast on the balcony before hiring a pedalo to go around the sea/ private beach area of the resort.

After that we went on the organised shopping trip. In Jamaica - outside of the resort - all prices are haggled and bargained at the till.
We went to Rainbow Stores, which was one shop selling souvenirs, clothing etc, and then to Island Village which was a collection of shops but many had closed down and they were mainly just selling the same types of things as Rainbow stores. We bought a magnet for our Scratch map, but left it at that.

We went to the Poolside Grill for lunch to get some final Jerk Chicken. We spent the afternoon on the beach and in the sea as it was our last day.

In the evening we had a romantic private dinner for two on the beach. We started in the Piano bar with a drink, where we were met by our waiter and escorted out onto the beach. We walked down the candle lit pathway on the sand and were given our own menus with our names on.
The menu was Cajun chicken slivers on beetroot and chocho salad with run mango chutney and crumbled feta, then cream of sweet potato and ginger soup. The main course was Caribbean surf and turf - jerk rubbed grilled beef tenderloin and broiled lobster tail with pesto mashed potatoes. For dessert with had tastings of creme brûlée, cheesecake and chocolate peanut butter cake.
We were given wine and Champagne to drink and the whole meal and experience was amazing.

After dinner we went for a last game of pool in the games room. Our waiter's shift ended once we finished our meal and he ended up going to the games room for some pool too - so Mike played a couple of games against Kenard and won :)
