This past week

At Sparks we had a baby shower for one of the other leaders who is expecting. I made a cheese and pineapple hedgehog - this is after some of it has already been eaten... It went down well and one of the mums told me this week her daughter hasn't been able to stop talking about it all week, and one of the other mums made one for the enrolment ceremony this week!

At last our new oven! I am so happy with it and it has had a lot of use. Chocolate cake, homemade pizza, chocolate buns, thanks giving dinner, more homemade pizza - I have missed pizza these last 3 months!

On Saturday morning we walked to the farmer's market.

Free range, organic, certified humane turkeys going for over $100 for thanksgiving!

That evening we cooked our thanksgiving dinner, with a chicken, roast potatoes, parsnips and carrot, stuffing, broccoli and homemade cranberry and apple sauce. It was really good. I think roast dinners are officially my favourite meal.

On Sunday we relaxed and Mike finished sorting out the computers, and we took a quick trip to Ikea. Then Monday we a day trip to Elk Island. We walked the Hayburger Loop, or half of it anyway, I got a bit concerned when we saw Bison sprinting and decided we should turn back.

You can just make out the Bison in the photo below, through the trees.

We went Geocaching for the first time! It was pretty busy with 2 other families looking for the cache at the same time and since we didn't find it first it was kind of a give away but it was fun! There are 8 in the park and once you have found them all you get a special coin as a prize!

Mike driving round the Bison again.

We made a campfire at Tawayik Lake and had sausages and marshmallows for dinner!

As we were leaving the park a beaver walked across the road in front of us! Can you spot him?
